ABOUT ME

Latoya Settles is an aspiring writer pursuing a career in the magazine industry. Her work focuses on empowerment, health and wellness for women of color. She has features with topics ranging from relationships, self care, reproductive health, and other women’s issues.

 

Settles began her media career in 2014, writing Don’t Call Me a B, a blog focused on women's empowerment by addressing stereotypes and reclaiming sexist, racist and misogynistic language. Latoya is also works in marketing. She is a marketing manager at Jillian’s Circus, a social media firm. Some of her clients include Cino’s Hot Bagels, Arts In The Plaza, Meraki Kitchens, and Tri State Alehouse.

 

Settles holds a BA in Media and Communications at SUNY College at Old Westbury (2019). She was a contributor for Her Campus, the SUNY Old Westbury chapter, as well as a volunteer for the campus Women’s Center.
